        <p>Well i know this not the forum specialty but i&#8217;m looking for face recognition source code i wanna mix it up with a media library.
<br />
the idea is to make a user profile that on locks as soon as the user show his face to the camera and loads his favorite videos/shows/moives for a home midea center PC kinda like &#8220;project natal&#8221; but less advanced.
<br />
i need a source code because i wanna learn i wanna read it compile it and learn from it and change few stuff in there and maybe in the end i merge it with my new MT design some how.
<br />
and finally make it my collage project hope fully i get good grade in it &#8220;finger crossed&#8221;
<br />
if you guys know any forum or blogs with wiki or how to it will be very helpful
<br />
thanks in advance :D

        <p>Hey all,
</p>
<p>
I was coming up with an idea for building a multi-touch surface into an existing table. I was planning on taking a laptop that I had, and flipping it back on itself. What I mean by that is to detach the screen from the base just enough so that the screen could fold over and lay flat against the base of the laptop. I plan on using LLP for this project, but did not know if anyone had any ideas about how to capture the blobs from this type of set or if it was even possible. I plan on placing a piece of acrylic over the existing screen with the lasers mounted on top of the acrylic. The problem is i&#8217;m not sure where I can place the camera to detect any blobs. I can&#8217;t put it behind the lcd for obvious reasons, and putting it in front of the lcd would not have the whole environment built directly into the table. If anyone has any suggestions for a way to mount the camera and get detectable blobs, or a way to improve this idea, i&#8217;d greatly appreciate it. Thanks

        <p>Hi,
<br />
Although this is my first post to the community but I am taking a lot of help from previous threads and topics on the forum.I have building up my own multi-touch table and now when I am at the last stage of the project, I am not able to run CCV properly on my mac system.
<br />
I have a PS3 cam connected to my mac book laptop which is also get recognized in Macam driver and then, when I opened up CCV it is always taking inbuilt cam as default and moreover there is no option to change it to PS3. I have tried to change the config file as well as given on the forum but it is not helping.I then tried to move to &#8216;camera settings&#8217; in CCV but in that as well, there was nothing useful there....
</p>
<p>
i hope if somebody can help me in this, I will be able to figure it out..

        <p>Hi,
<br />
I search someone who can be able to recreate (or find but i&#8217;ve search a long time) a software which can use the setup proposed here :
<br />
<a href="http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/people/awilson/publications/WilsonUIST2005/Wilson%20PlayAnywhere%20UIST%202005.pdf">http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/people/awilson/publications/WilsonUIST2005/Wilson%20PlayAnywhere%20UIST%202005.pdf</a>
</p>
<p>
In fact, the idea is simple for a person who has a little knowledge in picture processing (which I haven&#8217;t!!) : the software has to be able to detect when a shadow and an object encounter then pinpoint the location of the touch.
</p>
<p>
I&#8217;m not creating anything here just presenting an old and forgotten idea (2005) which can be a easy way to multitouch screen for a lot of member of the nuigroup!

        <p>This might be very intersting for the NUI-Community and MT development.
<br />
Today i received a master-thesis from a friend who graduated two days ago.
</p>
<p>
Here is a summary:
</p>
<p>
<b>&#8220;Abstract
<br />
Even though multi-touch screens based on frustrated total internal reflection
<br />
(FTIR) principle have gained significant popularity over the last years their
<br />
overall performance is often limited by design. In particular, we identified robustness
<br />
towards ambient light, high-speed tracking and precise calibration as key
<br />
issues in many systems. In this thesis we propose a set of software and hardware
<br />
extensions for a custom-built FTIR screen that improve on these aspects by reducing
<br />
the impact of ambient light, optimizing tracking performance and performing
<br />
an automated calibration at high precision. Comparisons with existing approaches
<br />
reveal great optimization potential: Our system performs well under intense and
<br />
rapidly changing lighting conditions, its tracking runtime is up to 30x faster than
<br />
Touchlib and calibration achieves sub-pixel resolution. The results are general
<br />
enough to apply equally well to other camera-based technologies and might influence
<br />
the next generation of multitouch processing software.
</p>
<p>
Despite its research history, only in recent years with the introduction of the
<br />
FTIR1 approach the number of researchers and enthusiasts realizing the potential
<br />
of the technology grew significantly. Several companies [Mic07, Per07, IB07]
<br />
have also developed products based on FTIR or closely related technologies. Even
<br />
a small selection of libraries and SDKs dedicated to multitouch-specific processing
<br />
tasks are openly available and the acceptance of the technology is increasing.
<br />
Still, the used software and hardware components are in a very early stage.
<br />
Over the course of a year we have seen many different system configurations, but
<br />
were mostly disappointed of the overall performance. First, either tracking accuracy
<br />
or latency or both altogether were not satisfying enough to use the touch
<br />
screen as a primary human computer interface (HCI). Second, the lack of robustness
<br />
towards ambient light limit their applicability. Third, systems exhibit errorprone
<br />
calibration methods based on tedious manual procedures. We identified
<br />
these three aspects as key issues that deserve a more thorough discussion.
<br />
This thesis aims to present ideas from established research areas, translate
<br />
them to this domain and discuss how they apply and perform.&#8221;</b>

        <p>Hi,
</p>
<p>
This is Prerak Desai from Mumbai, India. Recently I got my PS3Eye camera from Hongkong.
</p>
<p>
I have Windows Vista with Core2 Duo and 1.8 GHz as its speed. I currently have 2GB RAM.
</p>
<p>
I downloaded the PS3Eye software from Code laboratories. When I ran CCV 1.2 I got only 15fps. I had expected much more than this. Can anyone please tell me the bottle neck here.
</p>
<p>
Will increasing the RAM help in anyway?
</p>
<p>
Microsoft VX-3000 gave me 20 fps with the above configuration. Is this value of fps enough to perform dragging operation smoothly?
</p>
<p>
Which of the following configuration help me improve the fps rating?
</p>
<p>
1) Core2 Duo 2.93GHz 4GB RAM Windows XP
<br />
2) Core2Duo 2.53GHz 2GB RAM Windows XP
<br />
3) Laptop with 2.7GHz Windows Vista
</p>
<p>
Does frames per second play a significant role in Multi touch System? My system is 32&#8217;&#8217; X 24&#8217;&#8217; table.

<p>
Thank you

So here is my question, Is anyone know what software they are using? More particularly is anyone have made something similar in the technology as the PlayingAnywhere projet?
