I am a MSc student in VisID lab at University of Victoria, Canada. With the great help form folks here Ι have built two multi-touch devices so far: a 23” LCD FTIR (now turned into neartouch)and a 32” LCD DSI coffee table. After using multi touch for a while, I decided that I wanted to explore many more interaction techniques that were not possible by looking at touch data only. So I further modified my prototype to support near touch interaction. I am now working on exploring new interaction techniques that can be performed with hands, on or near the surface.
