inconsistencies between programs

I downloaded the multi mouse driver from Ramsin Khoshabeh
and i was having trouble calibrating it.

So, i calibrated it with the tool from MTMini. Below is a video capture of me using the demo program from MTMini.
In the raw video feed, as well as the demo there are no problems, its bascially spot-on.
I then copied the config.xml file to the multi mouse folder, and ran the program (both touchpad and screen version). In this video feed, the top ~1/8 of the screen is interference. It is consistently happening when i go back and forth between the two programs. The interference is causing the mouse pointer to jump around the screen extremely rapidly and even clicking and dragging is occuring.

Any Insight? Is there another config file somewhere?

TUIO/OSC Message Format confusion when reading via Labview

Hi there,

I’m working on a little MT project. We’ve got the hardware working, and using OSC.exe and FLOSC, we’ve gotten flash MT working (yay!).

I’m not really a programmer, and although I’m sure there are other ways to do this, I’d like to use Labview - which I’m most comfortable programming in - to develop some apps. It seems like using Labview’s built in UDP polling might be the way to go…

Right now I start OSC.exe or the TUIO simulator, and get the following semi-nonsensical string from the Labview UDP port query thing:

#bundle ÌlYN Û¸ $/tuio/2Dobj ,ss source simulator /tuio/2Dobj ,s alive /tuio/2Dobj ,si fseq ÿÿÿÿ
#bundle ÌlYQ ¡ $/tuio/2Dcur ,ss source simulator /tuio/2Dcur ,si alive l 4/tuio/2Dcur ,sifffff set l>ƒ33?33=€ > 9¯«P /tuio/2Dcur ,si fseq Cn
#bundle ÌlYQ Û¸ $/tuio/2Dobj ,ss source simulator /tuio/2Dobj ,s alive /tuio/2Dobj ,si fseq ÿÿÿÿ
#bundle ÌlYQ 8 $/tuio/2Dcur ,ss source simulator /tuio/2Dcur ,si alive l 4/tuio/2Dcur ,sifffff set l

I’m trying to figure out how to interpret these messages.... Using the TUIO simulator and moving my finger only in x or only in y, it seems like the characters and syntax after “set” are touch #, x, y - but I’m lost beyond that, and lost as to how to convert these non-sense characters into x and y coordinates… Also, it seems like the touch # is followed by “>“, x is followed by “?”, and y ends at the second “>“ - so, in the following:

.../tuio/2Dcur ,sifffff set l>ƒ33?33=€ > 9¯«P...., the touch id would be ”l”, x would be ”ƒ33”, y would be “33=€ ”, and I don’t know what ” 9¯«P” is supposed to mean… Is this some kind of issue with the data being in binary or hex or...french?

Any help or thoughts?

Thanks!
Emma

[MiniMT] Vista crashes as i try Calibrating

First thread ever, here, and i knew it’d have been issues.

I’ve downloaded the MTMini package sort of a week ago, and used it with my only quality video device around,
a Canon MV600 MiniDV camcorder.
Everything looked fine ( i still have to build a box/glass/paper kit, but software was responsive; even the MouseDriver worked. Well sort of, without calibration.

Last time i edited my DSVL_config file, i changed values to match the 720x576/25fps from the camcorder,
and i tried starting Config.bat as always.
No visible changes except when i hit Enter - that should bring me to the Calibration screen:
Everything just turns off. PC reboots and Vista tells me about a critical error. Cool.

restored the DSVL_config file with the original version from the config_backup folder, and since then.. it kept crashing my pc time after time.

I have not downloaded it yet, but from the looks of it, it could be a pretty wicked multi touch experience. NASA World Wind for the universe.

How to choose the right camera input?

Hi I am really new to multitouch, but I am really fascinated as well…

So, I hope someone can help me out with this problem.
I am using a MacBook with a built in iSight and Windows XP.
As a webcam for the hole tracking stuff, I would like to use my modified xBox 360 cam.

The problem is, that I cannot get touchlib to choose my xBox 360 cam over the built in iSight.
First I tried to disable the iSight in the Windows Hardware dialog, but then I got only grey screens in touchlib instead of an image from my tracking-cam.So, how do I have to set up the config.xml, that touchlib use the connected cam as the main input?

In this <post> boinx mentioned the configuration of the DVSL_config.xml, but where should I put this file (same dir as the config.xml??) and does it need any changes on the config.xml?

Maybe someone with a similar setup (MacBook / Pro) can help me out here.

Thanks,
Jens-Ove

Nasa World Wind Plugin

Hey everyone,

Has anyone seen this link: http://oldspeak.net/worldwind/

WorldWind Multitouch Plugin

This is a rudimentary, stub, C# WorldWind plugin which listens for multitouch input using the TUIO protocol, and interprets a basic set of finger gestures to control WorldWind. Supported gestures are single finger drag to spin the globe, pinch and spread to zoom, and two-finger rotate to roll the camera.

You’ll need:

    * NASA WorldWind 1.4
* A working installation of touchlib or reacTIVision

I’ve been trying to get this Plugin for Nasa world wind to work but I keep getting this error message when I try and load it.

I’d love to get this plugin to work, as would a number of others.

Any thoughts?

i’ve just finished building my ftir table, i’ve got blobs, i can configure and everything, it tracks the inputs (i see that on the square thingy window, it reads my inputs) but when i run the smoke demo app nothing happens, it doesn’t translate into anything. i’m thinking i might not have all the right components installed on my computer, on the touchlib site it lists a bunch of “dependencies”. are all of these necessary to convert my inputs to actions on screen?

i’ve got the visual c++ 2008 redis installed, do i need open cv and all the other wonderfully huge downloads?

Is there any articles/diagrams that describes the algorithms to detect the standard gestures, i.e. Zoom, Pan, Rotate. Or anyone could explain here.
I would like to know the psuedo code / mathematics of the algorithms.
