Do you think we should setup a buy/sell forum to encourage poeple to share stuff? apart from compliant surfaces, or projection screens im not too sure what people would need to share since most other stuff can be bought in small quantities.

How about a Jobs/Wanted forum ?

Hi everybody, i have started building my table couple of weeks ago, LCD Led LR - anyways...i’ve read alot in this forum and out of here googling etc. everything is based on cameras , since webcams are available everywhere its a good idea...but the problem is the space...we need something that can be thinner, i got an idea...and done some researches and testing finding out that its possible, here how it goes, optical computer mice, they have a small ccd sensor thats used to sense ir and light reflection from surface...get an optical mouse and a remote control, shine the IR beam of the RC into the optical lense of the mouse, it would move...alright...since mice are so cheap and easy to find we could use like 20 or 30 mice that would be mounted like 2CM behind the LCD like if we r using LLR or something like it, and as for the software there is a russian guy who managed to make the CCD sensor of the optical mouse work as small crappy cam, im little confused and have like million things to do i’d like if some ppl of the community would help improve this altho im a dental and oral surgeon but im in love with computers and electronics since i was a kid and have written so many programs for many companies but being in the field of medicne would distort your mind cuz u would need much time,,, anyways hope to hear form you ppl...thnx

Our first project proposal and that also to IISc India, we wanted to make our first application oriented Multi-touch design and this project is a part of our dream.

The project is to create Multi-touch based digital display system for library. Attached is our short description of that project. We have our finger crossed to get this project approved. We had done a lot of study and work regarding it, a small nod will bring us incubatee and we will be developing this.

Salut à tous.

je suis tombé sur ce forum, car comme 99,9% je suis en train (d’essayer) de monter un multitouch.

Bien entendu ce site est anglais (américain?) bref, dans tout les cas, j’ai remarqué qu’il y avait énormément de français.

Tout bêtement je me suis demandé pourquoi ne pas créer une partie française à ce forum? Non dans le but de séparer les gens, simplement dans celui d’améliorer la compréhension et de ce fait, ramener encore plus de monde.

Mon idée vaut ce qu’elle vaut, j’aurai aimé avoir votre opinion.

Hi guys,

Last night I met for the first time ever Arthur (ruht) it’s great to meet someone from the NUI group face to face . We talked about a lot of things and had this idea about gathering our local homies and have a sort of community where we could share where we get our hardware locally as well as do collaboration work face to face. I think this has been done in many parts of the world already by many of you guys, but we’re lacking one over here in Malaysia.

So, here’s a thread to bounce off ideas on how best to get a local community going :D

As for the larger community at NUI Group, I would also appreciate if you could share experiences as well as ideas in setting up and running a local NUI g community.

Height blob detection??

Hello, am a new here, and have one idea. Why if we using 2 cameras, don’t take a stereoscopic image from them, and calculate the height of an objects placed above MT surface?? This will simplify the design of MT tables, maybe it even work without fancy IR illumination at all. Something like that:

I am complete zero in coding, so tell me is this possible to realize in CCV? it may be very cool.

Code Mentoring

Would be nice to set up a Code Mentoring Program. Share IM info, and get a little one on one help from someone that is better then you in Code. Maybe a half hour or so a day. Then as you grow you can pull someone up to. I think this could help a lot of people here.

After working on a subject for many days and weeks, you start to see your environment in selective manner. You buy a brand new car, and realize how so many people use that brand - but you realy didnt know before. After typing with Word/OpenOffice whole night, you try to search a real book using Control-F :-)

We thought it would be a good idea to ask the community for some help in finding the ~ symbol in nature and or whatever surrounds you. There are many examples - and this is valid with NUI Group! If you see things around and think they resemble NUI logo, then you are one of us! :) Just choose your best photos, and even images/videos you see, and send them here.

PS: Idea came after a talk with Christian. He also owns the snake :)
