Pretty short on details, but interesting nonetheless.

It’s essentially a DI system.  They reflect a handful of infrared lasers in front of the surface to flood it with IR light.  There’s a camera in a back that detects disruptions and maps them to touch events.

Wait so are the lasers being shot into the glass like a DI or in front of the glass?

I think they are using something like the NEC WT600 for projection…

Check out the throw on this thing…

thanks, mr Holmes !

NEC’s unique mirror projection technology using aspheric mirrors achieves the world’s shortest focal distance*.(about 6000USD....°)

reminds me of laser tracking for some reason http://youtube.com/watch?v=FpA__15_nzY
my mouse has a laser, or so it claims…
i’ve looked for beam splitters for other projects, i could only find expensive versions, like a 300-600$ :(

I thought about using lasers , but the scattering part never crossed my mind. The ir laser wouldn’t be a problem , but what the hell are they using to scatter the thing?

And man , i love Seadragon , their “endless zoom”.Apart from that , the software was not very impressive.
