I need to extend the FFC ribbon cable on my LCD display.  At .5 mm spacing for 20 pins it looks too small for me to solder.  I found a coupler at diy-beamer but it is rather expensive.

I think I found a ribbon cable at Mouser.  I guess I might be able to build a coupler if I could find an easy to solder ZIF FPC.  Any other suggestions?

Have you used the search function on this forum?

It seems to me that someone else posed the same question, and found a source for cables from someone. I’d do a search and see what you get. wink

I did find a reference to a LumenLab extension, but no link.  It is not easy to find on their site so here is the link. This one is expensive too, but cheaper than the diy-beamer one after currency exchange.  They also have a forum discussing extensions and a database of monitors for projects.  At these prices it would be cheaper to buy the 2 FPC’s at Digikey and a 6" FFC jumper.

It’s been 2 weeks since I ordered the FFC extension from LumenLab and still nothing.  Plus those clowns don’t return my emails.  The reason I didn’t build my own was to save time.  I can’t wait to turn on my LCD panel.
