Hey, I have a big screen(90*120) and 4 5mv 850IR lasers in hand and just wonder whether 5mv IR is powerful enough to light the entire screen area, I did a quick try on glass and got the blobs, but the blobs are too weak to recoginze and can not pass through a paper, does any one have similar experience and can advice whether I need to switch to a more powerful IR?

Well AlexP , Fairlane and Justin are all using 10mW lasers , your screen is really big I don’t think 4 5mW lasers will cut it , but I might be wrong , keep trying and post your results here.

Be shure to use ir protective googles when seting the lasers up , 20 mW is enough to burn your retina , with ease.

Good luck ~ Vladimir.

I’m using 2x 10mw lasers on a table of 118x74 cm which is enough to be recognized. I haven’t setup the lasers very precise yet so i might lose some power there, and i’m also using a 120% lens, so some of the power is lost there aswell..

Sure,Vlado. I’m well protected> smile
Actually, I don’t think there is too much difference between 10mw and 20mw, they are both class 3b.

Class 3B devices go up to 500mW, but there *is* a difference if you accidentally look into the laser beam. Don’t you think?
