It seems that sunlight seems to be an issue for most people. How do you work with it? If anyone have any suggestion, please smile
I was just thinking one day, that the sunlight covers to alot of the wavelengths, but aren’t there any peaks and lows? So I searched up sunlight on
Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunlight

If you see the model on the right there, maybe we can find wavelengths where the sunlight is minimal at sea level, and thus work with them when building the tables?

Of cource, I may be totally mistaking here. But I’m just thinking out loud:p

I was also looking at similar charts and was trying to get the actual data. It does seem that there would be advantages if you could optimize the wavelength to reduce SNR. However, there are several drawbacks. First is higher cost to get parts that work at non-standard wavelengths. Second, common webcams work much better at shorter NIR wavelengths. They become less efficient the longer you go with a ceiling around 1100 nm. The only cams I found that work at longer wavelengths are for industrial part inspection, which would be perfect for MT except for the cost. Another issue is that there are other types of lighting besides solar. The energy/wavelength charts for incandescent and fluorescent lights have different curves.  Still I would be very interested if anyone wants to test some wavelengths such as 785, 808, 850 and 980 nm.
