So vague in fact I can’t provide an image because you can’t see anything.

Basically, we took apart the LCD, removed the big shiny silver backing, ripped out all the electronics, modified all the cages so if now fits in the hole etc, turned it on and it works fine.  But, the image being displayed is really very ghosted, you can only just see it.

We have the thick lexan sheet (which is so pretty), the lights and the diffusers which were packed in the back.  Should we just keep the diffusers, or add more, or what?  Basically, has anyone else had this problem and any idea how to get my brightness back?

Ta, A.

Put back the honeycomb looking acrylic sheet, reassemble the backlights as they were in the frame, between the honeycomb looking acrylic sheet and lcd panel, add a vellum paper. That should get the light back for you. Remove all the other layers that came with the LCD. Here is the order:

--- LCD Panel
--- Vellum Paper (Diffuser)
--- [Backlight] Honey comb acrylic that came with the LCD [Backlight] (as was there originally)

Checkout THIS post with the same issue like yours. Got it resolved. I also did the same to my LCD FTIR setup. Works great.
