My wife and I will be vacationing in Europe for a couple weeks and are looking for things to do August 7-8 in London and August 13-14 in Barcelona. 

No business talk, purely social… getting to know new people over food/drinks or doing touristy things around town since both of these cities are new to us.

I just got back from visiting my sister in London and had a great time. I would recommend a visit to the science museum (seven-teod cats, glow in the dark mice, lots of other cool stuff), and the V&A which is just around the corner is also worth a look. The Japan exhibition at the V&A has some interesting peices, including samurai warrior armour and swords (just a big kid really!).

I found the Tate modern boring and pretentious, but the London eye is fun if you don’t mind paying a lot of money to go on what is basically a big ferris wheel

Nice! Too bad that I am probably not in London or Barcelona around that time.
Barcelona is really nice (probably very hot (maybe too hot) this time of year).
London should be the nicest around this time of year regarding the weather (ps: don’t take a taxi in London if you don’t want to go bankrupt)
