I just want to say hi from Amsterdam.
I started two weeks ago with my first multi-touch experiment using my new open-source realtime 3D tool called NuPlay.
Check my first experiment:
I modified the TouchLib a bit. TouchLib is sending gesture OSC messages (didn’t want to write the gesture recognizing algorithms as a part of the mod) to NuPlay.
NuPlay is basically a total conversion of the Quake4 / idTech 4 engine which reacts to all kind of OSC messages. I wrote a couple of external programs which translates wiimote, midi, arduino etc.etc. to OSC.
A nice thing about NuPlay that it’s very easy to hook-up gestures from your multi-touch table to NuPlay. A gesture is translated into a so called trigger in the idTech4 level editor. With that trigger you can perform interactions with the realtime 3D enviroment (visually and auditive).
