So I bought a piece of frosted glass from ikea for around 100 CAD going back a while now. The whole time I was seeing dots where all my leds were behind it and the projector was blinding me (3000ansi).

I just ran to homedepot (hardware store) and got a bottle of RUST-OLEUM specialty Frosted Glass Spray, put three coats on the surface and BAM. My led light is now even along hte surface AND the projector is no longer blinding me!

Great $7 fix if anyone else needs it!

Will that spray stick directly to smooth glass? If so, that would seem like a really easy way for me to utilize a glass top from a coffee table w/ rear DI. Also I wonder how much is too much, and how hard is it to get it off if I did use too much?

I don’t think it would be possible to use too much, but have no confirmed this. Removal is extremly easy using a glass scraper or pressure washer (or water and paper towel with some elbow grease).

The can cost me 7.99 at The Home Depot. The SKU is 0 20066 19039 2 if that helps at all. After doing a 180 x 50cm section of glass with three coats I still have about half a can left over. Just be careful that your finger is not in front of the nozzle as it will make dots in the spray.
