One of the design aspects of these ultra short throw projectors is that they can throw images really really close up to the projection surface. As a design feature the offset ratio is often more than 100percent, meaning the image will be projected upward/downward from the straight axis. This is why you will not match the projection to the edge of your table, unless you tilt the projector (causing unwanted distortion) or either move the projector “outside” the edges of your table.

or use a mirror to change the angle some and use quite a bit of keystone correction

You are right about that solution, but the thing is that his keystone correction (DMS300 or ET10) isnt sufficient enough to correct that very well.

well, depends how the projector is oriented...by using a mirror you can use different orientations and sometimes get good results...would be good to see a diagram

Trust me AdmiralUD, if we talk about the projector scuba is referring to, mirrors are not the best solution. The design of the projector might be pleasing for the eye but from if you want to bend the projection beam with mirrors you will probably need to cut through the projector case. Also the indent where the lense resides cases a white reflection on your projection screen.

hm yea im speaking more about short throw projectors in general, if u have experience with that one id take your word on it.

position of the beamer is at the moment more or less the same like harry’s in the first post of this topic. at the moment i try to make nvkeystone running. but it seems like they don’t support geforce 8 series anymore with this. so if anyone has a tip for a software based keystone correction.. let me know..
