Hi,

We have built and installed 4 FTIR Tables in Mandalay Bay’s Eyecandy Lounge.
They are 3’ wide round table with a 3500 lumen projector. Programming was a mix of Max/MSP/Jitter and Lua.

Check the video for more.

Well for starters we had a lot of problems finding the right LED 1 IR Filter combination. In the end, we custom-built flexible LED strip with Osram leds every 1.5”. For the filter, the best we could find was a MaxMax BPR (http://www.maxmax.com). For the surface we used 1” macrolon acrylic to witstand people dancing on the tables. The projection screen was Dilad film (dilad.ca) and the projectors were Christie Digital DS+300 with a 1.0:1 wide lens.

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you use any kind of compliant surface or is it just bare acrylic?

No,

Just bare acrylic, but the scratch resistant version.

Don’t you have to support it if it stops working though? Do you give a warranty or do you charge them for maintenance?

Yes, We do have to support it. As with every project that we do, nothing is “off-the-shelf”. Everything is custom made and it need a bit of care. The software have been pretty solid and we did not have to reboot the machine for at least 5-6 months now. We had some overheating issues with the original LED strip design but we fixed it with a new design with bigger resistors.
