I am currently only able to get 10-11 fps with the modded xbox 360 webcam @ 320 x240. Anybody have ideas on how I can get the full 30 fps? I am running on a newer HP laptop with Win XP, 3GB ram, and 2.0 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo .

Is there a limitation that is causing only 10fps? Any ideas on how to increase the framerate?

Open the config.xml file and try raising the camera fps higher.

If that doesn’t work, load the camera in another application like amcap at the desired rate and then reload tbeta as tbeta will use the last known settings for the camera.

I tried changing Amcap and config.xml with no luck. I am still stuck at 10 fps. Any more ideas? Could it be a limitation of the laptop?

OK, I found the problem with this XBox cam 11fps problem...very silly.  Most people who are having this issue probably use negative film over the lens which causes focus and fps issues. I will try a good IR bandpass filter and see if that helps.

We use a very good filter an get the same issues, the fix…

Go into the cam settings and keep hitting ‘default’ then ok, then open and repeat a few times and bingo, you go back to 31 fps.

(I blame Windows because I don’t know what is it, and therefore Windows must be at fault, because I’m prejudiced).
