Hello. Any of you know a way to make an own light filter to the projector? AS I see, for the rear technique it’s recommended to use a light filter in the projector to avoid the interference on IR light. Am I correct? How can I make a light filter with common things like the photography film to IR filter.

Thanks a lot !!

No for rear-illumination this shouldn’t be a problem at all! The more ir-light you cast the better the results should be… With front-ill. this might be a problem however I don’t think it’s a big deal.

Arno,
I’d have to disagree about “the more light the better” with using rear illumination.  My setup was working pretty good with just ambient light (see my blog) but I still needed a little extra light to even out the surface.  I wired up just 4 IR LEDs below the surface and that was enough, even being 2 feet away, to completely wash out my cam image.  Even when I angled the lights to reduce the overall light level, there were still hard edges from the light.  I think there is a definate need for testing to find the right balance for rear illumination.  I ordered some diffuse material online from http://www.gamonline.com so when I get that in I’ll let everyone know how it goes.
