Have you had any problems with the projector overheating?

I am thinking of putting my projector in the box, but cant quite work out how to arrange it and the mirror correctly…

nice pictures, extra note: build18-er sanded his acrylic with 600 grit sandpaper, so the image is projected on it, this way you don’t need a projection screen, which is actually quite interesting.

he comments that a higher grit may work better. I might actually test this since i still got a spare piece of acrylic left

does the sanded surface reduce the FTIR and cause a lot of light leakage?

yeah well i guess in the end you dont want your image to be project on a sanded acrylic surface anyway, eventhough at first it looked like an nice solution to me, build18er told me the image is less clear anyways, which makes sense

it wasn’t that it wasn’t clear, it was, its just that there are better solutions out there, i actually just ordered a piece of rosco gray online, it should be here by the end of the week.

Hi build18er,
Interesting design, a nice DIY. I have a question about the applications in your second video.
Which was your approach to send the input for the World Wind application? Did you modify the source code or just mapped the OSC messages with GlovePIE or something like that?
I saw your gestures for click, did you also mapped this from OSC?
In general, could you give us an idea of the tools you have used?
Tnkx smile

Good looking so far. What’s the capture rate of your cam? Is that what’s causing the delay? What did you use for capture detection and mouse output?

hi Matt, looking real rough and nice, your widescreen box!! i like the handles on the side.

i did something similar (maybe a bit less portable) but with the same idea to have a box where the optics (or even the pc) are fixed inside. like this, different positions of the touch surface are possible, just moving the whole box.

check out here
