hey all… came across this video on youttube but couldnot find any more references to it… wondering who’s work is it.
does anybody know more bout this stuff… looks pretty cool tho!!!
Hey,
I saw this a month ago with following description::
intuitive desktop digital imaging with multi touch screen. new gestures and interface design. fourth semester project in new media at hfg schwäbisch gmünd. projet partners: jens franke, wera reinhardt, thomas gläser
Is it just me or does it look like he’s merely mimicking the gestures and it’s only a video playing in the background? There are quite a few times where actions happen before his movements, or his gestures and the actions don’t sync up quite right.
It’s a cool idea for the program but i see two major problems; one) you have to use your whole hand to act as a left mouse click to bring up a menu. two) if you notice he had to press down and put some force into it, might be his own way of doing it but most consumers wont like that, cuz they think they would break it
The video looks fake. But there is a multitouch app for the iPhone. It allows you to move pictures scale them just like you see with all MT tables. The app is called photoboard v.1 is out and v.2 is in construction. Its a fun app, but not as fun as a MT table.
nuiman: really liking your preview of lux. I’m in the process of designing and building my own touch table to be run with a Mac. I look forward to when you have a beta released ... this month, right?
I have a compact version of terminal on my hacked ipod touch. It has a symilar rotund menu system to the vid above. Also cant wait to get my hands on lux! It’s funny i belong to a vj collective called v-lux http://www.v-lux.net the sites down at the mo but should be back soon. I guess lux is the new X factor! Any way keep us informed coz my tables ready for action!
Why? Because the concept is sound. A whole lot of thought and brainstorming went into that interface.
I really admired the use of whole handed gestures to perform tasks. Very very creative and inspiring, and that is the point of sharing it right?
