In thinking of changing my camera I’m wondering if any of you have tried using a standard vhs camcorder connected to the input of a capture card with wdm support? Should be able to get good fps capture I’m thinking, as well as light sensitivity would be better?

Any thoughts?

I was seriously considering using a capture card but ultimately went with a webcam for cost reasons. Certainly using a normal camera (I was looking at a CCTV cam) had its advantages though, choice of lens, light level sensitivity, etc. I am not sure about the capture side of things though, in my case I use in Linux so the capture is pretty much the same either way for me.
