YES that god burnt at first and then i touched the main power chassis ship by mistake to the matrixs chip even that got fried…

I have enough dough just enoughfor another 15” lcd but then no money for IR leds…

You have to keep the diffusive layers between the acryl and LCD-panel. Otherwise the backlight quality is crap. (and those hexas will show up)

But diffusive layers don’t pass IR well...

Don’t flip the filters… some of them work in one direction!

Hey everybody,
Got My hands on a 17” LCD monitor and dismantled it till i reached this crossroad.I’m Hoping some of you guys who’v dismantled a LCD already can Help me… with what i need to keep and i what i dont..

So i finally ended up with three parts


1) The LCD smile

2) The Backlight [I’m Presuming it is because it has two sets of wires-one and top and one i the bottom which i think go to the CCL’s]

This has a acrylic sheet and a paper behind it which has a hexagonal pattern [like a bee hive].THis paper looks like it can come off....should i take it off?

3)Three Sheets of This translucent plastic film…

Each sheet is actually different and has a different purpose.
You have to remove the very last layer, which is white, it shouldnt be translucent at all.  The other layers can remain.

They dont pass IR well but they do pass IR.  What your problem might be is that IR light is emitting from the CCFL and ur blobs are getting mixed up with it.  Place IR blocking film around the light source.

When your camera is looking from behidn the LCD screen; it should see the screen as almost black.
