Realize a pretty significant portion of reading audience outside US, but I suspect many know we’re doing the election thing again this year ... CNN has added big Pixel Perceptions unit running some custom software to show analysys, etc.  I’m sure there’s better video someplace, but this is one I found:

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/politics/2008/01/15/jk.michigan.analysis.cnn?iref=videosearch

They call it the “Magic Wall” ...

Yeah, I noticed that too ... there was a lot of single touch going on, but not much multi.  I haven’t seen anywhere other than CNN, but will continue to look around ...

Thanks satch. Still seems like a waste of a multitouch device since they’re only using it for since point interaction. Cool vid none-the-less.

Yeah, The Daily Show made a remark about this back in January. CNN’s showing off a lot of neat tech, like augmented reality, but as they too easily demonstrate, they have no idea what they’re supposed to do with these things.

Their bogus multitouch implementation during the early primaries motivated me to look into real uses for multitouch input. The Daily Show vid is in my signature.

Their magic wall looks pretty impressive in terms of size. It looks like a the kind of movable whiteboard which u see in school.
How thick is that magic wall? It looks rather slim to me.  Kind of wonder where would the projector and camera be unless that’s a LCD monitor.

The “magic wall” is Jeff Hans wall from his company Perceptive Pixel.

yea i have read about it somewhere on the forums that it is that media wall by perceptive pixels.

I was looking at the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQQ7bT1IHrA and I somewhat find that the screen looks like a movable whiteboard.
If you seek the video to around 2:06, look at the stand of the screen. it looks like there is just a stand and not covered up like what most of the media wall photos found online(like this one.

So I am thinking if the bottom is just a stand without any kind of space, then where would the projector and computer be in? Unless the magic wall that the CNN has is thick enough to have the projector and computer in it. But again, it doesn’t look very thick to me.

I may have seen it wrongly though. I am not too sure myself actually.

Many sources and online articles say it’s Jeff Han’s wall. Plus it does look like his wall when you compare the images/videos.
