On November 7 2006 the domain nuigroup.com was registered, The forum came online on November 11 2006.
We only started actively recruiting people and promoting the community in the beginning of 2007.

Within 1 active year we have almost reached 1000 members. Which we will most likely be reaching before the start of 2008.
It has been a very exciting year with a lot of interesting people sharing their ideas on hardware and software and making mainly multi-touch possible for everybody.
Thank you everybody for sharing and lets strive for an ever bigger grow in 2008.

When we hit 1000 members, we will be giving away 50 free shirts to the people that we thought have contributed a lot to the community.

then this is the perfect chance for me to say:

I would like to personally thank the NUI ~ Team for their efforts, ideas - in particular, starting nuigroup! - and overall welcome ‘feeling’ they all provide. When I joined, as member 119, I got welcomed into the community with open arms, and that only continued into the irc chatroom which has been a great experience - and will continue to be. I am sure almost (if not all) the members can say the same thing.

I could name people, but I won’t because I might miss someone, but you *might* know who you are.
I see only great things for NUI Group in the future and I know great things are coming from here!

I hope everyone enjoys the festive season and all will return next year refreshed with new ideas. I know I have some brewing!

donovan, I personally share you’re feeling. Without this community I wouldn’t think about the challenge to build a TFT multitouch! Big respect to all of you! It’s a turbulent business informatics, but with some good efforts, things could go very well in the near future for NUI.

Big thanks to all you who keep this place running! I discovered the NUIGroup at the Adobe Max conference earlier this fall, and was immediately captivated by this technology. I’ve recently started building a box of my own (blog coming soon) and would not have even attempted it without all your help!
