So far, I’ve tried to find a good way to make a thin multi-touch surface but got no solution.

So, I make my own and would like to share it with community users.

Instructions are here

http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/openmtproject/index.php?title=ArduMT1

The above instruction guides you to make an 8x8 thin multi-touch surface.

It’s a part of my OpenMT project (http://openmtproject.sourceforge.net).
My reason of starting this project is posted here: http://www.touchuserinterface.com/2011/01/working-on-openmt-first-announcement.html

* The instruction as well as OpenMT project are at the very early stage. if you have any question, comment, feel free to post it to this thread or one of OpenMT forums (http://sourceforge.net/projects/openmtproject/forums)

Thanks. I also hope people to make cool gadgets with it.

8x8 WOW,very nice project.we can use some sort of conductive transparent materials like (hmm, i don’t know grin ) instead of cooper papers to use it on the LCDs right?
has anybody have any idea how can i build an Arduino myself?

Hi, you can use the transparent ITO film instead of copper tapes but as far as I know, there are not clear pressure sensing materials. To make a transparent version, detection mechanism should be changed from the current resistive sensing to capacitive sensing. It’s not so difficult job but I don’t have enough time to do that. I’ll share basic schematics if people want a capacitive version.
