Hello everybody!

Now i’m going to present you our new 42 inch multitouch table with thin design - total thin of this table is 28 cm. In a month we’ll present next table with 15 cm thin (42 inch). Here some apps from TouchPack are demonstrated. Leave some comments about this setup.

P.S. It’s LLP+DSI setup

---
Best Regards, Anatoly

wow it’s really “thin”!
you’ve used wide-view lens for the camera right?

Hello, vasilli!

Yes - wide-view lens (2.1) + 4 cameras setup. I noticed that we’ll decrease thin a month because in this setup we have about 7 cm of non usable space for insurance and in the next setup we’ll use 6 cameras. Be ready for the next announce.

What are you using for processing? I need to upgrade to something new. I’m currently using a maxed out Powerbook G4 17” circa 2005. I want to make sure that when I begin my project, I don’t have lag, or avoid as much as I can. I have also thought about a hybrid table / podium using LLP, and Rear DI. However, this LLP DSI table seems to do the trick just fine. Would it be safe to say that the more cameras in use, the thinner the table can become? Nice work! I’d love to see a step by step. http://nuigroup.com/forums/viewthread/11818/

Delineation - you are right - that the more cameras in use, the thinner the table can become. But you should mention some specific when you build multicam installations with more than 2 cameras - your computer must be fast, you should choose good USB or 1394 controller cards for cameras, cameras should be synched with each other and you should take care about stitching image together.

In this setup we use customized version of CCV with image stitching module. But our custom vision system announced before will be released in May 2011 (it’s my diploma project).

I have a few questions.

What material is the border of the screen. It looks like black acrylic (PMMA).
What cams are u using ? I think im going for the new flea 3 usb3.0 http://www.ptgrey.com/usb3/Datasheet_FL3-USB3.pdf with a theia lens 1.3mm I now have already the ps3eye with the theia lenses works great
Are you releasing the ccv with more than 2 cam setup?

Thanks to everybody!

@rogiermars - it’s not a black acrylic (PMMA) - it’s a tempered glass with black foil.
About flea 3 - i haven’t tested it yet, but comparing sensors from this camera with sensor in Firefly MV B/W, i must notice that old Firefly MV B/W looks more interesting for multitouch applications. Anybody knows price of flea 3?

@the_goat: 4xFirefly MV with 2.1 mm lens, nothing special. About LLP + DSI - yes they are used at the same time.

Looks great Anat, congratulations!

Are the lasers mounted in the silver knobs or where did you put them? How many?
Did you use lasers or LEDs for DSI?

Great project! Keep up the good work!

@anat: can you please give details about how you used LLP & DSI at the same time ? a little drawing would be very nice!

rogiersmars, afaik the flea is less sensitive to IR then the firefly… but the specifications are great , especially fps-rate / resolution oO
but i dont know if the flea cam is usable for our purpose.... any1 who used the flea?

Hi anat, i have a problem with my dsi setup because when i put the glass on i can’t track blobs. Without all is fine ! Did you have an idea to have the same result as your project ?

Where are your laser in your setup, i can’t see them.

Thanks for your help.

if the lasers are mounted in the silver knobs… it looks like the LLP is above the top layer of glass… since the table has no rim around it does that mean you are letting a slice of IR laser light spill out into the room?  Isn’t that a bit dangerous?
