We are using a 3mm thick sheet of Abrasion Resistant Acrylic on top of a 6mm thick sheet of Endlighten T on top of a Vizio 37” LCD which is secured to a FF (extruded) sheet of Acrylic.  Internal components consist of a PS3 EYE + CS Mount + Filter Camera from Peau Productions I could go on and on about the components we are using and why, but you can go ahead and take a look at the attached parts list PDF.

Update 3-19-2011:  It appears that Google does not like redirections from this site so I have just uploaded the parts list as a PDF.

Thanks for catching that, its very odd how the link is behaving.  It is going to be roughly 3.5 feet or 1.0668 meters tall.  Once we get started I plan to open a blog that will document every single step that we take.

what is the usb over cat5/5e supposed to be in your project? why do you use those neoprene setting blocks? Isnt it better to beam the light directly into the acrylic (especially for the endlighten)? So you dont have the airgab between…

The USB over cat5/5e is because we are placing the computer in a secure office, and USB cabling is not shielding for long distances so we are using twisted pairs to cover the distance.  Due to us only being able to get a 6mm thick piece of endlighten we are going to have it laser cut around the edges and then shine the light in.

We have taken apart the TV and I can confirm that the Vizio E370VL does not have the FFC problem.  In fact the cable may be a bit long.
