hey all! im new to all this ftir multitouch business and im utterly entralled by it! guess im one of those tinkeres thats always on the lookout for a new project!
having got an ipod touch not too long ago i started wondering if there were any DIY multitouch efforts and lo and behold there were!

im so impressed by the ftir idea and that it can be constructed by us regular folk! ive started buting bits n pieces to build my own set up and i think il go down the LCD route as it seems to be a less expensive and maybe less bulky solution.

i was wondering if its possible to mix color LEDs say blue LEDS as well as IR LEDs in the FTIR acrylic? maybe its mice to have a visual feedback on the sheet itself? as well as on screen. wld that interfere with blob detection? or disturb the lcd image?

wld it be best to start a project on a smaller LCD screen like 19” or just go for a 26” tv straight away?

i ended up buying 940nm IR leds and the ps2 eyetoy cam. i know its all cheap stuff. but wld the results be ok with that? i read that 940’s arent good with ccd but are they worse with cmos?
