Hey all!

This is my first post in NUI Group.

Im glad to announce you all, that we have released recently a new software to work with Kinect.

Simple Kinect Touch (aka SKT) creates multitouch surfaces easily, then sends the data via TUIO to anywhere.

A demo of the software here:

And the software running under Ubuntu here:

You can download the source code from Ludique LABS.

Currently is under a beta release, hope to upload a new version soon, with some improvements and better GUI.

Please play with SKT, and make some cupcakes while you play.

Hi, in http://code.google.com/p/simple-kinect-touch/
you can now find the new version and windows 7 source and binaries.
On Windows is running a little slow, probably because of OpenCV compilation for VS 10 (cmake doesn’t have sse3 option?)…
Have fun!

wow, great. just tested. really impressed how well it runs.
had one issue though. i am on windows btw.
the background calibration was not completed for the whole image or just failed at all (black screen).
had to stop updating the images, then it calibrated fine.
the tuio communication works fine out of the box,
at least with danielD´s HID driver for win7.
thanks and keep on.

Hi hunix, I don’t know why the binaries might not be working, please include a detailed output. That message appears when the kinect device could not be found (if you haven’t done it, try the OpenNi samples)…
About the compilation: First you have to compile OpenCV from trunk (subversion) with OPENNI, Qt and Qt_OPENGL options enabled (and have Qt, OpenNi, primesensor and avin installed)
Then you have to change the library paths, include paths and, if you are using an opencv version diferent from 2.2.9, the include libs in the project properties (in the SKT solution) to point to your files.
Then you have to copy the dll’s from qt and opencv bin directories to the debug directory where the SKT.exe file is created (only those that appear in the executable version’s folder).
Please tell me if it works… or not… good luck!
We are finishing the new windows version (1.2) and will be published soon. The linux 1.2 version is available.

Hi, that’s strange, the link works fine here.
Here is another link to the win executable: https://rapidshare.com/files/1372484954/SKT-1.2-WIN-EXEC.zip
Enjoy!
