I’ve been making my first surface mirrors out of acrylic rear faced mirrors and a latex paint remover.

Basically, you get the mirror the size you want, make sure it isn’t warped (several of my acrylic mirrors were very warped).

Place the mirror in your setup for testing, then when you’re ready to mount it, use the latex paint remover to remove the protective backing.
Instant (well, about 30 minutes) first surface mirror.
