I’m pretty sure I have .NET 4.0, though when I tried to install .NET 4.5 it gave me an error.

just found .net framework 4.5 developer preview - is this ok?

Yes, this is what you need 4.5.Net. But, please remember to install all software mentioned in the begging.

1.Must install .NET Framework 4.0 (Client Profile or Full)
2.For user installed Surface 2.0 SDK: You can run direct and without install driver !
3.For user non-install Surface 2.0 SDK:

You can install Surface 2.0 SDK and runtime then enjoy !
Or you can not need install Surface 2.0 SDK by: Install driver in Driver_Final.rar and must install Surface Runtime !

Current release: 1.1 (Include driver and exception device + AnyCPU)

what is the purpose of the driver? is it a “virtual” device driver?
is this architecture true? :

or

in other words, who does the TUOI to WM_TOUCH conversion, BSQsim or the driver?

After install driver:
