How to setup CCV 1.5 with MultiProjectors ?

One of the best feature of CCV 1.5 is that it can handle various cameras.
This means that not only you can reduce drastically vision distance for single projector setup ;
but that also makes a powerful tool for very large multitouch displays using multiple projectors .
However, searching around in the forum i didn’t find any precise answers or tutorial that deal with this subject .
The goal of this topic is to discuss solutions, which will hopefully leads to a comprehensive tutorial for calibrating CCV on multi monitor setups .

To open the discussion , a couple of questions and a quick survey of related topics.

Is there a the way to specify to CCV settings the size of the calibration grid ?
(for example two VGA side by side will means : 2048 x 768 ... )

Is there a way to resize and move CCV 1.5 calibrating grid
as in previous versions of CCV I could enter calibration and by using arrow and a,w,d,s keys I could move and resize the calibration grid.
(.../viewthread/13911/)

What are the best practice on the calibration side of CCV

how to align multiprojectors ? What are the best practice for blending and stitching : softedge vs hardedge

Some members mention some solutions

AudioMind suggests this :

Use an AutoHotkey script:

#i::
SysGet, VirtualWidth, 78
SysGet, VirtualHeight, 79
WinMove, A, , 0, 0, % VirtualWidth %, % VirtualHeight %
; Remove the spaces before and after VirtualWidth/VirtualHeight

How does this work ?  and what means :  SysGet, VirtualWidth, 78 , SysGet, VirtualHeight, 79 ??

TouchMi also suggest a

Simple Multiple Projector Blending/Warping and CCV 4 Cam Tutorials with Immersive Display :  (http://nuigroup.com/forums/viewthread/12598/)

This video is great but it doesn t clearly explain neither how you setup ccv .

More suggestions ? More solutions ? Feel free to contribute

Hi jimihertz

The script is supposed to be used with the AutoHotKey utility. See http://www.autohotkey.com/.

The idea is to use all the displays attached to the pc for the CCV calibration, whereas normally the calibration starts in just one display.

huge thxs AudioMind ;

to sumup :

1/ Install AutoHotkey
( AutoHotkey is an open-source utility for Window to control your computer with a couple of key strokes)
See http://www.autohotkey.com/.
2/ Create a new hot key script / Check Hot key tutorial
or Dowload this testccv.txt attachment and copy the content into your new auto hot key script / save it

#i::
SysGet, VirtualWidth, 78
SysGet, VirtualHeight, 79
WinMove, A, , 0, 0,&#xVi;rtualWidth%,&#xVi;rtualHeight%
;Test Script to force Full Multi Screen with CCV

3/ Double click on your .ahk script
3/ Launch CCV
4/ Launch CCV calibration (press ‘C’ key)
Classic calibration grid will appear on your main window.
5/ Press [Windows] key + i key .  This keystrokes will active your .ahk script .
Calibration grid will extends to your active windows.

@ AudioMind : Does this method also work with 4 or more displays ?
Can you explain more about this script…

More after the break ....

Hi there guys. We are pleased that the subject is getting some attention. We unfortunately have recently taken down our two meter bar to make way for our four meter bar. We are a few weeks off from getting all the parts needed, as we have been focusing on opening our new shop. As soon as we are able we will do a full in depth video of how we use different software to achieve great projector blending and killer multi cam calibration in CCV 1.5. We will post more soon..
