Hi, there!

We’ve developed a new version of the Ripples App. by David Wallin.

With this version it’s possible to load videos or images as background, place floating objects, change ripples size, etc…
and everything can be modified from an easy .xml.

Watch it on our demoReel:

//Binaries + Source Code
 waterRipples_v00.zip  (15Mb)

We’ll be answering questions on this thread.

Tell us what you think at multitouch-barcelona.com
Enjoy it!

[edit]
We should have some sticky thread for posting new working apps and demos.

[edit]

It’s not available on this version, we did some testing with sound matching ripple propagation. Hope next version we’ll have audio :)

what sort of processor and graphisc card are you running ?

2.33 Ghz MacBook Pro
3Gb Ram
256 Mb Graphic Card

However, flash player doesn’t run natively on the gfx card. (I think)
Check the online demo here: http://www.interiorsbarcelona.com/RX/rippleVideo.html ; you won’t notice much change between computers

Sure, place your .flv into “Bin/local/video” then modify the path on ripplesConfig.xml that you’ll find at “Bin/local/”

-----
Note that there’s a wrong path at “Bin/local/ripplesXMLBackUp/boat_Pebbles.xml”.
17: local/video/pebbles.jpg ->Wrong
local/image/pebbles.jpg ->OK
-----

It’s great you liked it :)

Great you liked our app smile
About the video/photo desktop,
We did not do any special modification, just removed the volume bar and loaded our videos.
In the future, we might be developing a media desktop App, (we’ve got an interesting interaction idea about it rasberry)!
Stay tuned,
cheers

I also am using a MacBook pro, are you using it in Windows via Boot Camp or in MacOS?
Reason I ask is I have been getting some weird freeze up problems with both Flash player applications and a java app (Penti game)
basically the application starts eating most of the processor and stops responding to coordinates being sent by OSC. Blob detection continues to work, just the frontend freezes.

Great demo though!

we are using bootCamp. Loads of people are looking for a Mac OSX solution, but no successful results at the moment
