Cerupcat, and everyone on here, thanks for your inspiration, very very cool!
Built one yesterday from a PS3eye using Alex P’s newer touchlib driver, running on Windows 7RC and after only two hours of messing around with the config settings got a consitently accurate blob reading. Although the smoke demo works quite well and the original (not the newer) mouse driver worked ok, I couldn’t get any of the flash demos to work. Then I trawled the forum a bit more and found the tbeta software ... I should have started right there! The flash demo with that worked ok, though my MTmini needs a bit more box height. My only gripe about using the PS3Eye is that I can’t flip the video horizontally - which was sorted out by tbeta. Woo!
I didn’t really look at all of the instructions (as I assume most people don’t...) and so a few errors and more tirals were made. But all in all absolutely amazing.
I’m very interested now in getting a c# implementation going to tie it in with Silverlight 3 which is what I work with. I’m also interested to find out what people are doing with projectors etc or if there’s any sort of solution for a video surface. Seems unlikely given what the camera is actually seeing but I’m always hopeful!
Thanks again, will be trawling a bit more and hopefully have a few more questions and also pics of the setup shortly and throwing together a blog post at rocketpanda
