I am running config but it is giving me the following error :

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.Please see the application event log for more details.

I am running on vista.Any idea what can be the problem and how to solve it ?

I just got this same error under Windows Vista Business.  Here is the reason why:

You need to install the Microsoft Visual C++ Package.  Here is the link to the 2008 version: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=200b2fd9-ae1a-4a14-984d-389c36f85647&displaylang=en

You will then probably have an error saying “MSVCP71.dll as not found” You’ll need to download this DLL and install it.  The best place I found was to download here: http://www.meggamusic.co.uk/winamp/msvcp71.zip and unzip and copy the DLL to C:\Windows\System32 (see here for reference: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?postid=2177031#post2177031)
