Hello everyone. I guess my tag on here is now TinkR (tinker, tinks, whatever you want to call me… Call me tinkr-bell-, however, and I breaka yo face.)

I’m a computer science major headed into my final two semesters of undergraduate school, and I like to work with my hands, which places this community (hardware AND software development) squarely into my interest

As an armchair inventor (plenty of “That would be SO COOL to build… tomorrow!"s instead of actually going somewhere), I am proud to announce that this site and the idea of multitouch has got me up and going, and having a blast.

I found you guys yesterday, realized I had two large sheets of acrylic, and now I’m sitting in front of a Radio Shack GigaWare camera which has been modded with photonegative like so many others on this site, and am jumping for joy while fooling with a piece of scrap acrylic and my fingers.

Anyhow, my first planned project is to put together a FTIR touch screen with an LCD display, (probably 17” standard for now, as I have one on hand.).

I’ll log it all at my blog. I’m looking down the gullet of constant school for the next year on top of a new job, though, so progress may or may not be fast.

Blog Note:
Entry 1 is in, and is primarily covering the camera, which I have not seen listed elsewhere on this site.

TinkR, Looks great, I’ll subscribe to this thread, Keep posting when you do updates.  I’m very interested in using LCD but there really arent any great tutorials out there.  If you can get around to it, please take pictures of what you are doing as well.  They would be very useful.  Thanks for doing this.  Good luck on the project.
