Hey everybody. After seeing Jeff Han on youtube months ago, I got pulled into the multitouch world of computing.
My first device is an iPod touch, which isnt really DIY, but was an interactive intro into the possibilities (especially when it is hacked for the apps and games).

When I saw the MTmini on Engadget, I said “I gotta try this.”
So, now I have a simple multitouch interface for my computer.
This current rig is only a square foot of acrylic for surface and a Philips spc900nc (which burned my wallet)

My next project will be the Wiimote whiteboard hack.
The final project, and the one I look forward to, is the large DI table. I just have to convince my dad to help pay for at least the projector.

Hi an welcome Misugaru!

I’m glad you liked the MTmini. The Philips was just an example camera (the one I’m using), but you’ll be happy to know it’s something you can use for your final table too as many of us use that camera.

I saw your issues in the other thread, i’ll be posting a new download package today that should solve your problems. =)

Welcome again and glad to have ya!

Yes, well, I was at Wal-Mart looking for a webcam for the project. The Philips seemed the best choice for its high FPS and decent megapixels for regular use with the family. I almost forgot about IR filters in webcams, but found out through trial-and-error that the camera sees IR fine. Something you already know though…

Well actually, you’ll still need to replace the lens when you get to that stage =\

Just about all cameras see some IR, but still have a filter. When the filter is removed, IR light will totally white out the camera. =)
