Ok, I’ve added a short video of the plugin as it currently stands. There wasn’t a video of the code in action so I thought i’d add mine.

This test is to show the Zoom and Pan functionality since the modification to the code for panning sensitivity at different altitudes.

More info on my blog.

Hi guys, I downloaded the source folder for world wind and was wondering - where is the image data loaded from/contained? I was thinking that maybe it could be replaced with our own imagery to make alien planets/weird spheres/objects etc. Any ideas if this might be possible?

Hey technodai, World Wind can display any globe if provided with the data. The globe must be made into a plugin to be recognised. I don’t believe you can just load in any shape and start 3D manipulation.

I might be wrong (i hope so!) but showing globes would be the extent of this multi-touch plugin.

Hmm, that might be useful…

A colleague has taken some 360 degree panoramic high definition photographs and was wondering about mapping them onto a sphere and having them be rotatable/zoomable etc like in worldwind. Then I wondered whether I could just take the flat 360 image and just import that into world wind…

Just being lazy really, or is it energy efficient?! wink

Thanks for the reply dude

Yes you are right, fairlane and i are currently developing new NWW plugin… the original one from Dan had a lot of problem it just had the basic functions implemented… we took them and modified and rewrote them to work properly and added in new functions to handle 3 finger gestures

Hey icube, we are still testing and refining some of the code.
When we are satisfied the plugin works well, we will make it available on the forum.
