I was wondering if anyone here has used the Infocus LP130 dlp projector in their FTIR setup?

Anyone happen to know the minimum throw distance?  It’s not listed in the specs I found.

I’m considering getting one because it’s small and cheap (and it’s HD-compatible)

Here’s a link to an example:  http://cgi.ebay.com/InFocus-LP130-DLP-Projector_W0QQitemZ300226081559QQihZ020QQcategoryZ48653QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

any suggestions for other projectors with comparable specs and cost?

thanks!

** Well, I went ahead and bought it for $350, and it has only been used for 197 hours very gently by a 70 year old professor!
Needless to say, it’s in great condition - Here it is:  http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270239538113&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123

While testing it, i noticed that it is very compact and light.  The colors are very bright and crisp!  I will hopefully be covering my plexiglass tomorrow with silicone (christopher method).  So, I will be updating my blog very soon with more pictures of the the project as it progresses.  I also built a new MTmini after being inspired by Seth’s awesome software package and pdf - i’ll probably post some pictures of that soon as well.

if anyone happens to have any extra rosco grey, I would love to buy it off of you.  I need some for my 24 x 36 inch acrylic

Hey! I was just wondering if you ever got the projector setup inside your setup…

I’m looking around for a projector for a screen of similar size. The main issues I’m running into are finding a projector with a short enough throw distance (about 3.5 - 4 feet) that can project a 42” diagonal image. Just curious on how this turned out for you.

Hey - Right now I’m still working on getting a compliant surface and mirror setup correctly.

I’ve done some testing with the projector, and I’ve had a tough time trying to figure out the best way to get it
to project a full screen picture without keystoning.  I’m hoping it can be done inside of an enclosure.

The projector has a very nice picture, and it has keystone adjustment.  It does get very hot, but I’m sure most projectors do.

I’ll post more updates as I figure this stuff out.

The minimum throw distance for this projector to project a fullscreen image on my 44” screen is about 6.5 feet.
My table is about 30” tall not counting the wheels.

So, even using a mirror, it does not project a full screen image on my table :-(
It does take up about 85-90% of it though.

Today, I updated my blog with pictures of my current setup showing how I mounted it.
