Firstly I wanted to say thanks to the contributors of this forum, great information sharing.

So I’m trying to complete a multitouch system by the end of this semester (mid May).  I’m well underway and very fortunate to find these forums, before investing too fully into some of the approaches presented in some of Jeff Han’s ACM documents.

I’ve started assembling some of the screen elements (awaiting some other things like the IR LEDs because the ones I have are soldered to a board already). Some of the pieces have been fabricated and some I am assembling.

As of now I’ve started using JMyron libraries in Processing for Blob tracking, so far so good with that… next step is sending that data over to Quartz Composer (a hardware accelerated visual programming environment Apple provides with their free developer tools).

The screen area is almost completely assembled, using 1/4” acrylic for the FTIR surface, 3/16” black opaque acrylic for a frame (completely aesthetic).  I havent decided if just to use Rosco Grey on something a little more economical for the projection surface.

The frame will connect to the screen (attached to 2” Acrylic tubes) into a larger PVC tube / PVC joiner system which will house the computer, camera (unibrain fire-i b/w) and projector (optoma 747).

I’ll post some pictures of the progress once more is made.

Sorry for the crude illustration, the figure is not hiting the screen

-Chris

Hi welcome to the forums. At first me and my projectmates also wanted to use Quartz Composer, but for now we’ve chosen Flash for our developments. Eventually we want our project being used in schools and since macs are still the minority we have chosen Windows.
