Funny thing about exsisting OS interfaces. They were built around keyboard and mouse input so MT seems overkill.
It’s not, it’s just that the OS isn’t built for that kind of interface.

I think MT deserves an OS of it’s very own. One that fully utilizes the capabilities of MT.
I see an OS where storage space will be a 3D environment, 3D photo and video editing will be standard tools.
How about a 3D browser looking at the entire internet as a mesh that can be moved through with every link visible and traceable.

All these demos show us the eyecandy and proof of concept. I think it’s communities like NUI that will help foster developement of real world applications of MT and maybe one day an OS built around it.

This video should show the possibilities of Framework, not an Application. You can build a new shell with it, or any other application.

I agree with that, MT deserves something more like BumpTop, because the buttons in the windows of the common OS are too small for the finger size, and with a 3d environment there’s more place for physics…

... MultiTouchVista includes physics engine smile Also you can scale windows to have them bigger.
I agree with you that MT OS would be better. But windows is already there and it is installed on MANY computers. With our own MT OS we would never get something comparable. The only thing thing that can be made is a MT Shell. This is not very hard. But all windows are still being painted by Windows itself, not by shell. So you have to make windows a little “multitouchable”. MultiTouchVista tries to make this. Ofcorse you can use MTV like any other MT framework. What you see in this video is only one of AddIns.

Cool! smile By the time Windows 7 is released, it will already be old news. Never under estimate the power of open source smile
