I was looking at a 780nm 10mW 3.2VDC 12 x 30mm Laser Module and wondered if it was ok. The part I want to know about is 10mW is that too much?

It depends on the size of your screen and the laser line angle. I’m using 2x 10mw lasers on a 118x74cm screen with a 120% angle lens which is just enough to get the blobs recognized and get through the tracing paper.

both lasers are 850nm.

Although i did order 4x 20mw laser of 780nm so see if the extra strenght will give better results. But maybe it would be enough if i spend some more time aligning the 2 lasers i have better.. smile

I found a place that sells them cheap the 780nm. I was going to get like 8 of them w/ 120 degree angle line lens. So now I might get them after all.

I just ordered some off aixiz.com too see if they deliver any good stuff.. they’re so cheap that its worth the risk of using an unknown shop smile

Yes, except i’m getting the 25mw ones.. my plastic foils blocks too much IR light and i need to use a couple a touchlib filters to get the blobs recognized. Not nearly clear enough blobs as AlexP has, so i thought i would add 2 extra lasers, but then i saw the 25mw ones so ordered 4 of those.... smile
