What I love about this is that the team at Harrah’s has really taken advantage of the “social” aspect of surface computing.  It’s not just multi-touch, it’s multi-user.  It’s not just multi-user, it’s multi-table.

Understanding how the UI paradigms totally change when designing something for multiple users sitting around a table is what I consider to be the biggest hurdle our industry faces in going mainstream.  The hardware and platform aspects are evolutionary, but the app UI design needs to be revolutionary.  What you’ll find at the Rio is a big step in the right direction.

This is an exciting milestone for us and I’m looking forward to hearing what you all think smile

Very cool!!!

I’ll have to go tomorrow and check it out. BTW, more than a year ago my firend and I were talking about doing something like this.
What are the apps/games running under (WPF, XNA or Flash)?

The Surface SDK supports WPF and XNA.  The 2 Microsoft-developed apps they’ve included are on WPF.  The 6 Harrah’s-developed apps are XNA.

levy, congrats on this success. I am a fan of MS of what they are achieving.
Some applications are useless in my opinion, like sharing a bill, but other applications are really cool.
I like the extra camera in the ceiling (ubiquitous computing environment) and the product is really well displayed as multiuser opposed to at&t. the commercial looks a bit too made (too much acting) but that is not your fault smile

Do you need Multitouch framework for WPF that works with any device? Visit http://multitouchvista.codeplex.com/.  It also includes multitouch driver for Windows 7.

Just wanted to say, I was in Vegas a couple of weeks ago, and got to drop by and use the Surface at the iBar in person, during a normal night out. It was a lot of fun...so great job on that!
