Yeah, its the projection screen. I have another one which is black.. I will use it soon.
The white screen (called Light Screen) is for situations where brightness matters, the
dark one (called Contrast Screen) is used for better contrast. But you could use all
diefferent screens as well… tracing paper, lee filter, optitrans etc… any screen that
works with di works too…

I wish I had some time to make a video… soon… soon.. smile

Is the acrylic easy to scratch up and ruin?  I have a 3 year old whom i’d want to be able to use my multi touch regularly.

well its a bit more “scratchable” than normal acrylic, but this only matters during the build process. On
the finished setup you must have the projection material on top, so your kid will be touching the projection
material, not the bare acrylic…

Got “EndLighten” acrylic. Only FTIR is working, but not DSI. What should I do to make DSI to work?

Really powerful sidelight maybe?

I’m using SFH 485.

On all 4 sides?
I’m using leds just on 2 sides, and it works, but not good enough (too weak blobs).

This is a test using Endlighten XL. While it works in theory, it doesn’t work in my particular setup at the moment because of a hotspot issue probably caused by ambient light. I’m not sure if I should do more research in this direction.

Are you toching the acrylic directly? If yes, then it can be FTIR effect and not DSI. Have you tried to put a glass on it and touch the glass?

This setup had a sheet of Plexiglas XT 99561 RP (if anyone considers buying it: its half-gain angle is too small for my taste) as a diffuser on top of the Endlighten. If you touch the Endlighten directly without a diffuser, you won’t get a DI effect.

Just tried with XT 99561 on top of Endlighten. Could not get same effect as you.
How good your EndLighten edges are polished?

The edges are polished with 240 grit sand paper, but I don’t think that’s important. Maybe you don’t have enough light.
