I’ve searched and read several posts and I haven’t seen an unequivocal answer to my question. If I use a mirror between my projector and my acrylic I know that it will allow me to make my cabinet shorter. What I don’t know is if my projector has a throw distance of say 5 feet will I have to have the same total distance from the projector to the mirror to the acrylic or will using a mirror change it slightly?

For example with the throw distance of 5 feet from projector to wall will I be able to put the mirror 2.5 feet from both the projector and the acrylic and it will be equivalent to the 5 feet total distance needed to focus?

And one supplemental question for the future. If some time in the future I get a different projector that can focus in a shorter distance will I need to adjust the positioning of the new projector and mirror combination inside the cabinet or will it still work as long as I can adjust the focus of the new projector to 5 feet?

Thank you.

Mike

Hi Mike

Yes the throw distance is the same. You’re just bending the path it takes, and yes, when you get a new projector some readjustment will be necessary.

Thanks Tinkerman. I guess I will have to find some adjustable mounting bracket for the projector then.
