Lot’s of interest for Lux I see.

I’ve received my copy of Cocoa Programming for MAc OS X, have started reading the prior reading material from Apple, can’t wait to try Lux out.  Wondering if it will also fire TUIO messages to Flash?  Be nice to make some test apps in AS3 whilst I get to grips with OBJ-C 2.0. smile

Thank you for the update.  Hope the move wasn’t too stressful, I know how bad they are.  Apparently worse than a divorce, but I guess that’s because in a divorce you offload something and in a move you always seem to end up with more junk than when you started… wink

Highvolt, lux is cross platform you are correct, the new tracker “community tracker’ or aka tbeta will be able to run on mac… lux in itself is a framework, used to develop applications.

Yes you can use a pad like MTmini, with the new tracker, MTmini uses a slightly modified version of a technique called front illumination.

Lux will work with any new or existing table, because all it takes is TUIO messages.  That means it will work with TouchLib, TUIO Simulator, OpenTouch, Community Core(tBeta), ReactAble, etc…

I am more then willing to to test your Multi-Touch programs on Linux, PM me if you have something.  If you’re looking for something faster then AS3 and Easier then C, try Python!

I’m not sure.  I think the final version of Lux(the one for C++ and Python) has to come out after tBeta.  Only Nuiman could give you a definite answer to that, but I think he told me this a while ago.

Yes tbeta is the new tracker that will be released with Lux… but dont get confused with the tracker and Lux… they are both different things… Lux is a framework, currently the majority of the framework is in AS3, and a little bit is C++ (OF_), but eventually there will be python (with xela’s help) and various other languages.

tbeta on the other hand is the community tracker that’s meant to replace touchlib… tbeta uses all the protocols that touchlib uses…

lol havent got a clue but i doubt it, you should ask nuiman for the release date, but i dont think it will be for another 2~3weeks at min

maybe even next month. But my feeling is that it will be released around the same time as gsoc finishes.... mainly cause nuiman and cerupcat are both very busy with gsoc.... and they are the major developers behind Lux and tbeta.
