Hopefully everything is still on schedule ... only a few more weeks left in July!  I go on vacation next week so I should be able to get my table mostly finished to the point where it’s time to start on the software.

Lux Beta will DEFINITELY be available in July!!!

Highvolt, lux is cross platform you are correct, the new tracker “community tracker’ or aka tbeta will be able to run on mac… lux in itself is a framework, used to develop applocation.

Yes you can use a pad like MTmini, with the new tracker, MTmini uses a slightly modified version of a technique called front illumination.

Taha

Thanks

I hope it came out soon...I can’t wait.

Lux will work with any new or existing table, because all it takes is TUIO messages.  That means it will work with TouchLib, TUIO Simulator, OpenTouch, Community Core(tBeta), ReactAble, etc…

I thought lux was a replacement for touchlib. I.e. the community core vision application is a part of Lux, right?

Touchlib is the blob tracker, lux is a framework for developing applications, with the release of lux there is going to be a major update to the touchlib(the tracker), that updated new tracker is called community core vision or aka tbeta.

flyte:  Community Core is a replacement for touchlib.  Lux is a graphical framework, like GTK or Qt(without the network stuff).  Lux does not do any blob tracking on its own, it takes TUIO input from any of those programs I listed above.  Therefore Community Core would pass blob tracking info off to Lux, which just draws pretty graphics.

Hope that makes sense,

Alex

Please don’t wait on lux to start any testing you may do. There’s plenty of things out there that will help everyone test and develop. Lux will come when it’s ready.

I’m really hoping the new Community Core blob tracker will work properly with my AME Group CF-2000 firewire webcam and GeForce 8400 card under vista.  I’ve been having Major issues with touchlib capturing a clean feed from my webcam.  It starts jittering really bad as soon as I open it up.

Touchlib has been the only thing that my new video card and webcam have had a problem with, and I’m pretty sure it’s some sort of incompatibility with my video card.

Is there any info I can send in to the Community Core developers that will help minimize problems between the tracker and my video card?

Well duh, it would just be nice is all. Of course I am actually going to use touchlib for tests until lux comes out. I am just really excited about lux like most of the people on this forum.
