I’m doing a senior team project at my school, the Rochester Institute of Technology. My project involves use of an upright FTIR display, not unlike you see here: http://www.themill.com/work/mill-touch/behind-the-scenes.aspx

I was wondering if I could get some help and assistance since I only have 11 weeks to build and construct this with my team. We will be using rear projection, and one of our biggest concerns are what kind of affordable acrylic do we buy that will hold the infrared light, but also display a projection well? We also want to see if we can run water down the acrylic to create a frictionless surface and save money on the silicone. This is very time sensitive so any feedback would be good, its important to note that the size of the acrylic needs to be sort of large, so maybe say 6 feet by 4 feet.
