Really hoping this doesn’t get pushed back another month.  I’ve got a production in mid-September that I was hoping to use this for ... but if I don’t have enough time to write the software I might not be able to :(

nuiman: any chance you’re accepting new beta testers even if the final product isn’t ready for the public?  I need to at least start my program development soon so if I have something to work off of, even if it isn’t finished, would be excellent!

I am more then willing to to test your Multi-Touch programs on Linux, PM me if you have something.  If you’re looking for something faster then AS3 and Easier then C, try Python!

I noticed that there is work to be done in converting AS3 to C++. I can lend a hand on this if there is need for it.

I’ve also noticed that a lot of work is being done for blog and gesture recognition. Is there work being done on object recognition? For instance, with MS Surface I can place a card or a cup down on a table and it detects special identifiers on the bottom or back. Are we doing anything like this for Lux?

caskater4:  They do this with their own proprietary spin on fiducial markers, which are special patters that can be picked up and recognized by tracking software.  This would not be something that Lux would provide, but rather a separate library, or the blob tracker itself.  There is no word on whether this will be included in Community Core, but if it is not I am sure someone will write a library for it eventually.
