Hello everybody,

My name is Samuel and i am new here. My question is simple : what can i do if my projector’s smallest image size is 1m and my ftir size is 0,5m ? Can I use the center part of the projector’s display ? Can I add optics to the projector to reduce the size of the projected image ? To summarise : How can I build a SMALL FTIR ?
Thanks

Sam

How can flat mirrors reduce the size of the projector’s image ? Flat mirrors are only used to change the direction of the projector’s beam and distance. I have seen people who build 40mm * 30mm FTIR.... but no projector can display such a small image.... I wonder how they do....

Hi!

That Beamer doesnt work. The Focus is combined with the minimal Projection size. AFAIK, there is no way to do this.

“but no projector can display such a small image”. Do you really mean 40*30 mm? I guess cm and thats working with many projectors. I repair Videoprojectors and my Mitsubishi SD200U can focus a Screensize of perhaps 30 cm diagonal.

Thank you for answering JanGermany,

Yes i mean cm ! But Most of projectors can’t display under 50cm diagonal image.... most of them but Infocus IN15. Do you know this projector. Does it work well ?

I dont know this Model, but in my view it’s too expensive. I gonna make a MT with 60*45, about 30” diagonal. I think, you dont have to use a projector like that cause of the small Imagesize. I gonna try to use the Tubes of a Rear-Projection-TV ion my “MT-Table”. Thats a really cheap solution and perhaps I can reach the height of 45cm wink

Otherwise I try to use some older LCD-Projectors with a good objective.

If you search a really cool Projector, have a look at Toshiba ET10/20 and EW… They are really cute and have great Data
