I’ve done some thinking and know it is possible. But I don’t have the knowledge or time to sit down and make something like that. Imagine you are sitting at your multitouch table. Around you in the room is a 7.1 surround set. 5 of the speakers are put around you in 360 degrees, and the last 2 are installed into the table itself. The subwoofer you can put anywhere. Then imagine you putting your hand to the multitouch surface and sounds and music you interact with mainly comes out of the speakers that corresponds to the coordinates you touch the surface. As you drag your fingers in a circle from one side to the other of the surface. You can feel and hear the sounds following you around the room as you move them.

I mean, it should be possible. Coding the volume levels of the speakers to the x, y coordinates of the blobs?

What do you guys think of that idea?smile

Pretty cool!
I’ve seen it done with hardware and a simple circle of speakers.

I think that could be done… neat idea. wink

I’ve also seen this down with hardware and a IR/proximity sensor. When a user got close to a sensor the speaker would play in back of them. As they moved around the inner circle, the speaker would pan/move to the next speaker. It’s definitely doable and shouldn’t be that hard to create. =)
