Hello,

Did anyone tried to use a grey smoked glass surface instead of acrylic ? Would that work with glass too ?

I was planning to use one with FTIR and one old LCD from a laptop…

Thanks a lot.

Glass will not work for FTIR.

FTIR would not work, no
however i’ve tried the following once :

i put a webcam in a bucket, taped a sheet of white office paper to a glass plate and laid it over the bucket.
the paper diffuses light enough to do fairly effective blob-tracking (only putting your finger ON the paper causes a dark, sharp shadow)
and it worked quite nicely.
smoked glass may do the trick too.

the downside of this, is that you need a room with allready diffuse light for this to work well.

cerupcat did this with a cardboard box and picture frame instead of a bucket
